The photo above was taken on Playa Hermosa Beach one late afternoon while I was taking a walk and enjoying the great sunset. This little fellow (a Coatimundi) started following me, so I stopped and shared my banana with him. I first came to Costa Rica in December 1999 and fell in love with this beautiful country, its warm people and easy lifestyle. Before moving here permanently, I traveled back and forth to Costa Rica every opportunity I had. I finally decided back in 2001 to take the leap and purchase my first property. I have never looked back. Then, in early 2007, on another trip back to my beloved second home country, I found another property that I just had to have. I ended up buying it and moving here to paradise for good. It has been over thirteen years now and I do not regret it one bit, I love living in Costa Rica.

Meet Julia
Hello there! I'm Julia Skibinska, I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. In 2005, my life took an exciting turn when I first set foot in Costa Rica. Its lush rainforests, stunning beaches, and vibrant culture instantly captured my heart. From that moment on, I found myself returning to this enchanting country every summer.
The more time I spent in Costa Rica, the more I realized that I wanted to make this tropical paradise my permanent home. In 2018, I decided to take a bold step towards realizing my dream. I bid farewell to my job as a librarian and embarked on a new adventure.
With a desire to help others discover the magic of Costa Rica and to follow my newfound passion for real estate, I obtained my Illinois Real Estate License in 2018. The world of real estate felt like the perfect platform to introduce people to the breathtaking beauty and opportunities this country has to offer.
The year 2019 was a defining one in my life. Armed with a few suitcases filled mainly with books, I made the courageous move to Costa Rica with my husband. This was the moment my dream became a reality.
I took my journey a step further by becoming a licensed member of the Costa Rican Global Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. This marked a significant milestone in my career and an opportunity to connect people with their own Costa Rican dreams.
Moving to Costa Rica has been everything I could have hoped for, and more. It's a dream come true, and I wake up every day excited to explore and share the immaculate beauty of this country with my clients. From stunning beachfront properties to ocean view lots, Costa Rica offers something for everyone.
In between my work as a realtor, I believe in finding that perfect balance between professional fulfillment and personal enrichment. Costa Rica is a playground for nature enthusiasts, and I take full advantage of it. I enjoy spending my weekends on a boat, hiking in the mountains, lounging on the beach , or tending to my garden. I also enjoy the company of my four incredible rescues, two scruffy pups and two cats. One of my other passions is contributing to the community that has welcomed me with open arms. Whether it's participating in environmental conservation efforts or helping animals in need,I believe in giving back and making a positive impact.
